HANNAH WHITE  and  JOHNNY HECKMAN 

On September 26, 2024, Brayden Hanks (Johnny’s brother-in-law and Hannah’s classmate) listened to the Lord’s whispers and decided to play matchmaker. He sent them both a text suggesting a blind date. The two both trusted Brayden’s judgement, so Johnny proceeded to text Hannah about going out. With the busyness of life, it took about three weeks for the two to finally meet. Their first date was at Barcelona Wine Bar in Nashville and consisted of silly banter, endless story-telling, and delicious tapas and drinks. After many hours passed by, Johnny couldn’t help himself and gave Hannah a smooch over the center console, asking to see her again.

 

Johnny respectfully pursued a relationship with Hannah from the day they met, ending each date asking to see her again. After a few dates, Hannah said she wanted space to think and pray about whether she wanted to keep seeing him, thinking that seeing each other once or twice a week might be best in the long term. Johnny respected it and gave her the room. Hannah quickly believed her prayer was answered and asked to see Johnny again. Rule made, rule broken, and they never looked back.

 

Over the next month, they continued to share conversation about faith, family, and the future. Out of the Lord’s kindness, they aligned on nearly everything. They quickly became best friends, encouraging one another, pointing each other toward Christ, and cherishing every moment together.

 

November 23, 2024 is when Hannah joyfully told Johnny she wanted to officially date him and Johnny wanted the same—cheers! They began building memories through Sunday mornings at church, meeting each other’s friends, being active, trying various restaurants and coffee shops, and cooking dinners together (Johnny cooking and Hannah keeping him company).

 

On January 24th, 2025, Hannah and Johnny took a trip to visit her family in Florida for the first time. On their last night, the two were watching a movie in the living room, and if you know Hannah, you know she was fading. So, of course Johnny knew this was his moment to tell Hannah that he loves her by asking, “You know I love you, right?” In shock and exhaustion, Hannah was at a loss for words. The following week, Hannah and Johnny were sitting at the dinner table, and she finally responded and told him that she, too, loves him—cheers!

Over the course of their relationship, they have felt so loved—from God, family, friends, and each other. It was a blessing when they met each other’s families and felt like they each fit right in. It was a joy to have each other’s friends speak highly of what they saw between the two. Matron of Honor, Hannah Bryant, saying, “I’m so glad you have Johnny!” on May 11, 2025. And, it has been sweet for the two to feel so cared for by each other in both times of arguing and times of fun.

After Johnny left the investment banking world and Hannah graduated from her masters program, the two decided to take a celebratory trip. They love to travel, so off to Portugal and France they went! On August 11th, 2025, Johnny proposed to Hannah in Cassis, France and she said, “Yes, of course!”—cheers!! Praise God for how He has ordained this relationship and continues to hold them fast!​
